To fashion its unusual shape, this shawl is worked top down from one corner with increases every row along one edge. The basic textures—a mix of ribs and welts—create interest and show off a semisolid yarn.

Yarn in sample Indigodragonfly CaribouBaa (100% superwash merino; 435 yd 398 m/31/2 oz 100 g): nary pewter and the chalice of zinc, 2 skeins.
