This design emphasizes the dramatic aesthetic of bias construction by adding a stripe. For textural interest, this garter ridge stripe in heavier weight yarn rises above the smooth stockinette stitch background. Not only is this shawl an opportunity to use some beautiful ombre yarn, but it can also be a good stash buster. That extra skein could become the perfect contrast color. In addition, this project is an opportunity to experiment with those mini-skein bundles. Try different colored stripes on a solid-color background or complement a gradient background with a same-color stripe,. Regardless of the chosen combination, this classic shawl design will become an attractive accessory.

Dimension: approximately 14” wide and 72” long

Yarn: approximately 572 yards lace weight for main color and 210 yards DK weight for contrasting stripe.
