A step-by-step crochet tutorial for making a two-tone bucket hat (you can also make it in a single color). Along with the video lesson, you’ll receive a PDF file with detailed, row-by-row written instructions for 3 head sizes. The pattern is simple and clearly explained in both the video and the PDF, making it perfect even for complete beginners.

Video and instructions are in Ukrainian.

Tutorial stages include:

how to crochet the crown, body, and brim of the bucket hat;

how to calculate the pattern based on your head size;

how to reinforce the brim of the hat;

small and big tips on shaping the finished hat;

which raffia yarn is best for this project and how to prepare it.

Materials needed:

2 skeins (half each) of Ispie raffia or Ispie Metallic. If you make the hat in one color, 1 skein is enough. If using a different brand (like Fibranatura Chunky with 120 meters per skein), you’ll need 2 skeins.

3 mm crochet hook

1 meter of rigilene (or whale boning — I personally prefer it)

Cotton twill tape (optional)

Scissors, glue stick, or office glue for extra structure (optional)
