The Striped Cable Slouchy is full of style and comfort. The cable ribbed band adds a classic, unique touch, while the slouchy fit lends a hipster vibe. The alternating color stripes provide endless opportunities for color coordinating fun. Directions are given for four sizes: baby, toddler, child, and teen/adult. This hat is made using worsted weight yarn. Directions for making an optional pom-pom are not included in this pattern but a link to a tutorial on my blog on how to make one is included.

Materials:
~U.S. 6 (4.00 mm) 16” Circular Knitting needle
~U.S. 7 (4.50 mm) 16” Circular Knitting needle
~Set of U.S. 7 (4.50 mm) Double Pointed Knitting needles
~Cable holder
~1 stitch marker
~ Approximately 200 yards of worsted weight yarn (weight category 4) in main color; this is a generous estimate based on the teen/adult size. Approximately 100 yards of worsted weight yarn (weight category 4) in contrast color; again this is a generous estimate and it will require even less if you skip the optional pompom accent. Basically, if you get one skein (200 yards plus) of each color, you should be safe and have some leftover, especially the contrast color. Some suggested yarns include Lion Brand Heartland,Lion Brand Heartland Tweed, and Red Heart Soft.
