Rawr! This stripey dinosaur is perfect for the beginner to amigurumi or anyone who wants a fun and fast project.

Striped Dinosaur is crocheted in the round, mainly in single crochet. His spikes are crocheted in a simple shell stitch using single and double crochet. The color changes are simple, but add a nice touch to the finished product.

Use a small enough hook to make a firm fabric and ensure that the stuffing does not show through. I used a size G (4.0mm) hook, and worsted weight yarn. You can use thicker or thinner yarn, just be sure to pick an appropriate hook.

You will need about 100 yards, probably less, of yarn in the main color, and a small amount, around 20 yards, of the contrasting color yarn. The face is made with buttons, but safety eyes or embroidery are also adorable.
