In our rainy Seattle climate, we dream of snow! So we couldn’t resist placing a snowball atop our Striped Tweed & Mohair Cap! Inspired by a ‘vintage’ Rowan pattern, our cozy cap alternates rows of Rowan Felted Tweed with rows of Rowan Kidsilk Haze (held double with itself throughout). Knit in the round with a one inch brim for a snugger fit, this cap is lightweight, soft and festive. Free pattern includes a neat tip for smoothing out any ‘jog’ in the stripe. What’s not to love? Tweeds and shimmery silk!

Medium adult, approx. 20”/51cm around x 7”/18cm deep; fits up to a 22”/56cm head.

1 skein each Rowan Felted Tweed, or approx. 191 yds/175m of an equivalent DK-weight yarn and Rowan Kidsilk Haze, or approx. 229 yds/210m of an equivalent lace-weight mohair yarn, mohair yarn held double throughout.

US 5 (3.75mm) 16”/40cm circular and double-point needles, or size to obtain gauge.
US 3 (3.25mm) 16”/40cm circular needle, or two sizes smaller than gauge needle.
8 stitch markers, 1 in a contrasting color. Darning needle. Pom-pom maker: 2½“/65mm.

Approx. 24 sts = 4” in stockinette stitch in the round.
