“This large, luscious rug will form the centerpiece of any floor. Knitted in one piece, the ends of the balls are tied together for slightly staggered stripes. Although the stripes are knitted horizontally; because the fabric shrinks more lengthwise than width wise, the finished rug has stripes along its lenght. This ambitious project is suitable for any knitter, or team of knitters, in that the hardest thing about the work is its size. The rug is perfect for autumn and winter knitting, as it will keep you warm whilst you work, and you may find yourself unwilling to felt it as it is also sumptuous as a blanket (although you could make two…)”
