Strong Basic Socks is knitted cuff down. Starting with a 1x1 rib for the cuff, then stockinette for the rest of the sock. The heel type is called strong heel, hence the name of the pattern. The gusset created by increasing on each side of the heel while also knitting the instep. No picking up stitches involved. The toe construction is a round toe.

Strong heel construction adds about 3 inches to the leg so keep in mind when measuring how long you want the leg to be.

Size: 1, 2, 3, 4
Sizes graded for foot circumference of (inch): 7, 8, 9, 10
Finished foot circumference (inch): 6, 7, 8, 9
Intended negative ease (inch): 1 or 1.5

Measure the widest part of your foot, minus negative ease, then choose the closest size.

Approximately 400 yard of fingering weight yarn required.

I used about 2 balls of patons sock yarn.

Note that only sizes 2 and 3 were tested. If there are any comments, questions, or feedback, they are welcomed and you can contact me
