Construction: Strongbow is a triangular shawl, knitted from the top (garter tab) down, with a special way of increasing, so the bottom edge appears to be more rounded. The pattern has a nice rhythm to it with easy to memorize repeats. Pattern is for bulky weight yarn, but feel free to substitute yarn weight and find the corresponding needle size (see “yarn”).

Materials

Yarn

Pichinku Bulky 2ply Highland wool (100% Peruvian Highland Wool; 195 yards / 178 meters per 100g skein).

2 color version:
C1: 390 yards / 356 meters
C2: 390 yards / 356 meters

Feel free to substitute your yarn with similar choices.
Any yarn that is of similar yardage and with wool content that you can get gauge with is good.

Note that estimated yardage might vastly vary depending on your individual tension of knitting and gauge.

Worsted weight yarn could result in similar results to the pattern sample.

Yarn substitutions:

This pattern can theoretically be knitted in any yarn, with any gauge.
To mimic the fabric characteristics, I recommend that you pick a needle size that is recommended on the yarn band (if using other yarn weight).
You will need to make more/less pattern repeats in order to achieve the same pattern dimensions as the pattern sample.
Yardage will vary depending on modifications made.
