Traditional Lithuanian wooden homes had intricate ornaments that fascinated me with their detail and craftsmanship. My grandparents had a house like that – this cowl is reverence to my heritage.
This is a colourwork cowl that is knit as a tube, then folded and grafted together.

Gauge:

30 sts and 34 rounds = 10 cm (4”) in colourwork pattern using larger needles; 30 sts and 34 rounds = 10 cm (4”) stockinette st using smaller needles; suggested needle length is 80 cm (32”).

MC: 2 skeins British Breeds (100% wool, 85 m/93 yd per 25 g ball); shown in eau de nil (155 m/170 yd used)
CC: 2 skeins J.C. Rennie & Co Unique Shetland 4ply (100% wool, 216 m/236 yd per 50 g skein); shown in Tudor (360 m/394 yd used)
