Sturnus Shawl
It is a top-down triangular lace shawl with a perpendicular border.
It is not a pattern for unexperienced knitters. I would not recommend it to beginners as well.
To knit this shawl you need to know how to do provisional cast on, pick up stitches, read charts (flat; there are also chart written instructions), do simple decreases and increases and knitting some more complex stitches.
I did not include any stitch/provisional cast on/gathered stitches tutorials.
Border is knitted sideways. No need to sew it on the shawl.
Selvedge stitches begin and end the border.
You need 2 skeins of Malabrigo Silkpaca, circular needles 4,0 mm (US 6) a scrap of yarn and a crochet hook for cast on.
The second version is knitted in my handspun and dyed so-called rose fiber. I used 205 g / 7.23 oz - approx. 626 m/684 yds; single, WPI: 17, border yarn is thiner. Body weight yarn would be placed as a fingering weight. I used what I had in my stash. I decided to put this version too because I really like how this type of cellulose fiber behaves. However, I think about some redyeing adjustment to this shawl.
Black in warm artificial light is a very deep green. It is the most invalid information in this post.
Sampler was knitted in rose fiber as well.
Obvious wisdom: Just go with your hobby.
