Suga is a sweet little sloth that likes cuddles and lollipops. Always happy, a great little companion!

Suga is an easy amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in US (American) terms. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.

Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished items. My Suga is approx. 14cm tall when seated (5 1/2 inches).

You will need:

  • 2.75mm hook/C-2 (US)
  • 8ply yarns/DK or Light Worsted > 50g of BEIGE, small amounts of PLUM, FUDGE and CREAM
  • BLACK 4ply yarn or embroidery thread
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle
  • Polyester toy stuffing
  • Stitch marker (optional)

Notes:

  • Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round and a yarn with no stretch is best.

  • When changing colour, pull through the new colour on the stitch before you need it. This will ensure that you have the correct colour yarn on the hook for the upcoming stitch.

  • Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.

  • I’ve used the following yarns: o FUDGE = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Col. 410 Soft Fudge o CREAM = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in col. 403 Champagne White o BEIGE = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in col. 408 Vanilla Cream o PLUM = Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in col. 444 Raspberry Pink

  • I have embroidered the eyes but you may use plastic safety eyes. Please ensure that there are no loose fittings.
