This sweater was made to wear over a turtleneck or tee shirt, where I think it looks best. Others may disagree.

It is knit in panels that are attached to each other as you knit. I like this method of construction both for its looks and for pleasure of knitting: each piece goes more quickly and if you have to rip out, it’s a small loss.

The lace pattern is intriguing to look at but easy to knit and learn. Overall, it is easy knitting if you can knit, purl, yarn over, left and right decrease, wrap and turn. No fancy shaping.

The embroidery is easy and quick. It could, of course, be omitted, or the amount of it could be increased onto the back and sleeves. I think I’d do one or the other if I were making it in solid, high-contrast colors.

One version has sleeves added and the second just has an icordedging making a cute cap sleeve. In both versions the back is slightlylonger than the front, giving it a modern style.
