Sugar Pine is the official knit pattern of the 2026 Sierra Nevada Yarn Crawl Pre-Crawl Make-A-Long

Named for the tallest trees in the Tahoe Basin, the Sugar Pine shawl features clean lines, earthy tones, and alternating bands of texture and lace, designed to resemble pinecones and needles.

Notes
This shawl is knit flat from the top down, beginning with a garter tab cast on. To achieve the crescent shape, four stitches are increased on every right-side row and two stitches are increased on every wrong-side row. A three-stitch garter edge is maintained throughout. The pattern includes both charted and written instructions.
