For the first time this year, I´m releasing the patterns from my Icelandic Yarn Club 6 simultaneously as a Patterns Only Icelandic Club 6. The ebook contains 3 patterns released one at a time on the 24th of each month from September to November. Patterns are only available in the ebook until the last >pattern is released on November 24th 2025. After that, they will be available as single PDFs.

To put it into context, my popular Icelandic Yarn Club is a yearly club that aims to introduce you to a greater variety of beautiful Icelandic wools, show you the growing diversity of Icelandic yarns produced in Iceland and support the little local artisans.

Behind their apparent simplicity, the Sulla gloves have a clever construction that makes for very well-fitting and comfortable gloves that truly “fit like a glove”! I paid particular attention to the little finger and thumb placement.
This ingenious design, where the middle finger is the first finger to be knitted after the hand, will hopefully make them as comfortable to knit as they are to wear.

The pattern for the Sulla gloves can be used as a blank canvas to add stripes, colorwork or embroidery, like the Flower of Life, a recurring pattern in Nordic visual art.

Part of my Icelandic Yarn Club 6, and published in October, which is breast cancer awareness month, these mittens are dedicated to my mother-in-law, sometimes nicknamed Sulla. Like far too many other women, she has been battling breast cancer this past year. I will gift her the mittens for her birthday this December.

I had my Ný Katla yarn dyed specially in pink for the Club, and part of the profits went to Bleikan slaufan (the Pink Ribbon, symbol of cancer awareness) to support the Icelandic Cancer Society. Pink is also my mother-in-law´s favorite color.

I will also let you appreciate the symbolism behind the middle finger and the Flower of Life.
