A play on the often disregarded “wrong side” of a knitted piece. The reverse side it is beautiful in its own right and stripes suddenly seem to mirror themselves. A lightly textured body and a ribbing border separated by a lateral braid make up this big and cosy shawl. Knitted in supple, plant-dyed Tulliver 4 ply, it will hug you with a surprising lightness. Choose your favourite colours and make it your own!

The shawl is worked sideways in reverse stockinette stitch with stripes of varying width. The border features a lateral braid in the contrast colour and is finished with a 2/2 ribbing.

Yarn: Tulliver Yarn 4-ply Blueface/Masham, 200 m / 219 yards / 50 g

Yardage for sample: MC 4 skeins, shown in colour Blush; CC 1 skein, shown in colour Coral OR approx. 680 m/ 740 yards of MC and 150 m/ 165 yards of CC in fingering weight

You may substitute with any fingering yarn that knits up to gauge. Please keep in mind that differences in gauge affect size and yardage, so make sure you have enough yarn to finish your shawl.

Needles: 3.75 mm/US 5 circular needle, cable 80 cm/32 inches or longer; 4.5 mm/US 7 DPN; 4.5 mm/US 7 crochet hook

Notions: 2 stitchmarkers, tapestry needle for weaving in ends, pins for blocking

Gauge: 20 stitches/33 rows in stockinette stitch, after washing and blocking with relaxed fabric

Dimensions: 185x95 cm / 72x37 inches
