The Sumburgh Baby Blanket uses a variation on the traditional feather and fan stitch for a blanket that can be made using any yarn, any weight, to suit your budget and climate. The size can easily be scaled by changing the number of pattern repeats and rows. The sample is made in a soft 4 ply (fingering) cotton/acrylic blend which is light enough for a summer baby and can be machine washed by busy parents. If you use a different yarn it’s advisable to swatch to be sure you finish up with the size you want. The blanket is knitted flat in one piece.
