A simple lace shawl is the ideal “little something” for summer evenings when there’s a light breeze or just that hint of coolness in the air. This simple lace pattern can be knit as a scarf, stole, or shawl. It’s perfect in linen, cotton, or bamboo.

YARN
Approximate, for size small medium, large, use either:
Worsted: 240 480, 720 yards / 220 440, 660 meters. Stole width shown in Lang Lino, color 06 Periwinkle. OR
DK: 280 560, 840 yards / 260 520, 780 meters. Scarf width shown in Ella Rae Cozy Bamboo, color 35 Kiwi.

NEEDLES
For working flat, use either:
Worsted: US 8 / 5 mm (or size to get gauge) OR
DK: US 6 / 4 mm (or size to get gauge)

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle

GAUGE
In stockinette stitch after blocking, aim for either:
Worsted: 19 sts = 4”/10 cm
DK: 21 sts = 4”/10 cm

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Approximate, after blocking. Garment will stretch longer and thinner as you wear it, so start out by blocking it to near its maximum possible width.
