Summer Sky’s beautiful lace pattern is worked in open star stitch. You’ll enjoy knitting it and watching the richly textured surface grow. The garter stitch stripes punctuating the lace give the shawl a vibrant and dynamic look.

Summer Sky is worked diagonally from one tip to the opposite side of the triangle. The slightly asymmetric shape is created by increasing on one side and decreasing on the other. This shawl is a perfect project for those precious single skeins in your stash.

YARN & YARDAGE
One skein of DyeForYarn Merino/Silk Fingering (75% Merino, 25% Silk; 400 m / 437 yds per 100g). Shown in colourway Melting Milk Chocolate Truffles.

(Green sample shown with Quince & Co. Tern in Kelp.)

Or approximately 400 m / 437 yds of similar fingering weight yarn.

NEEDLE
Size 4 mm / US 6 circular needle. Adjust needle size to obtain pattern gauge. Gauge affects finished size and yardage.

Shawl is worked flat but I recommend using a 100 cm / 40 inch circular needle to accommodate the growing number of stitches.

FINISHED SIZE After blocking
61 x 195 cm / 24 x 77 inches
(depth x wingspan)
