This shawl is a riff on the July Night Shawl, published previously. The triangular shape, the placement of eyelets, and the picot beaded edge remains. The difference is that the Summer Sunset uses a slightly heavier, sock weight yarn, Uluru from the Queensland Collection, as a main color. Additionally, striping is added at the lower edge of Summer Sunset using a stash remnant to provide a slightly larger size and to provide a backdrop for lower edge beading.

Summer Sky is a light weight shawl that offers just the perfect warmth for a late summer evening. It works up quickly, uses only one skein of the main color and about 100 Yd of the contrasting yarn. Stitch counts are provided to help in keeping the sides the same. Gauge is not critical although different gauges will alter the finished size of the shawl. Using pattern with suggested gauge results in 72” along top and 32” in depth at mid back.
