Summerwood Tee
The Summerwood Tee is a lightweight, breathable knitted top inspired by dappled summer light filtering through leaves. Its signature allover eyelet lace pattern is airy and delicate, yet easy to memorise once the stitch repeat is established – making it as enjoyable to knit as it is to wear. Prefer a subtler look? The lace can optionally be worked on the front only.
The pattern has been updated in March 2026. Version 2.0 includes a redesigned layout, updated branding, added schematics with measurements in both centimetres and inches, US needle sizes, and, for the first time, a German version.
Construction
Constructed bottom-up in the round, the short sleeves are worked separately in stockinette before being joined seamlessly at the yoke. Raglan shaping carries the lace pattern all the way through to the neck, keeping the design coherent from hem to collar. The raglan seams are finished with a matching 1×1 rib that echoes the hem and neckband, giving the tee a considered, polished finish. Neck and shoulder shaping is worked with German short rows, and the garment is finished with an Italian tubular bind-off for a clean, professional edge.
Originally designed for Saona by Wooldreamers – a soft fingering weight blend of Andalusian cotton and Merino wool – the Summerwood Tee works beautifully in any fingering weight yarn with good drape and breathability.
