Summery and a New Pattern is a short sleeve top beautifully evoking the spot where sea meets land, with a moss stitch yoke, seashell lace and a nipped in waist creating a easy, breezy top perfect for summer frolicking.
This sweet top is worked in pieces from the bottom up, commencing with a deep rib that gives way to a bold seashell lace motif. The natural scallop of the lace creates fluttery sleeves, while moss stitch grounds the sleeve head and yoke. A charming jabot is worked in two pieces and joined together and can either be sewed to the piece or attached with a brooch or pin for versatile styling options.

Summery and a New Pattern is knitted using Susan Crawford Mallory, a luxurious sportweight yarn with a composition of 50% Merino wool, 50% Silk creating a beautiful soft fabric for those special projects. Shown here in shade Columbine.

Our model Theodora is shown wearing the first size 81-92cm (32-36in).

The pattern includes instructions for five sizes to fit chest measurements between 81cm (32in) and 152cm (60in) and contains both clear written pattern directions, together with charted instructions for lace pattern plus a comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart.

Yarn kits are available at Susan Crawford Vintage.
