Sumner is a peaceful beachside village cozily nestled between Redcliffs and the Pacific Ocean in Christchurch. A beautiful spot for walking along the water’s edge, sandals in hand, skirt hitched up out of the way of the sea, enjoying the atmosphere.

Sumner Pullover is just the kind of garment that fits in that picture. Easy to wear, with its cropped relaxed fit and mid length sleeve, with enough detail in the stripes, the wee cables and the combined stitches running down the back to dress it up for dinner.

You’ll start knitting your Sumner Pullover at the neck ribbing before making a provisional style cast on across the shoulders. You’ll then work flat down the back, then the front, before joining under the arms for the relaxing round and round of the body. Once the body is done, you just need to pick up stitches for your sleeves and you’re done!
