A request from a friend for a sunflower blanket was the perfect opportunity for this idea. Sun Chaser uses pi shaping and increases every other round for a squarish shape. Nupps are used to create the seeds.

The center (seed) section is worked first, beginning with a provisional cast on. After the center is complete, the “petals” are worked outwards.

As written, the blanket is about 58” in diameter. The size can be altered by working additional repeats of the petal pattern or by changing the yarn weight.
