Marla and Sami Collection

Marla is made from 2 strands of lighter-weight yarn that have been dyed separately and then plied together. When worked, Marla creates a marled fabric, where the colors are uniquely distributed. Sami, the semi-solid DK-weight sister to Marla, has a palette of 11 coordinating colors!

It’s a cowl, it’s a poncho, it’s a capelet -- you decide! This simple yoke is shown here in two coordinating colors of Marla and Sami (one skein of each), but you could decide to make it tweedy all over with Marla alone, or an understated basic in just Sami. Or keep the pairing shown here, but work in stripes wide or narrow. It’s easy to imagine knitting several versions of this versatile accessory!
