Sun Dogs are cute crochet drawstring pouches in three different sizes. Simple Houndstooth stitches create these fun little crochet drawstring purses.

Sun dogs, or parhelia, are bright spots of light that sometimes appear on either side of the sun. They are seen as a sign of good luck.

You can use a variety of different yarn weights and fibres, it’s up to you. However, plant based fibres will work best for durability.

You will need:
Yarnsmiths Cotton DK, 100% cotton, 106m/116yds/50g. Small and Medium sizes need 1 ball each of the main colour, and for the Large, 2 balls of main colour.
Blush (3062) for the Large and Small sizes.
Oatmeal (3064) for the Medium size.
Small amounts of contrasting colours: 4x 22m/24yds/10g for Large, 4x 11m/12yds/5g for Medium & 1x 11m/12yds/5g for Small. I used:
Strong Blue (3274) - Small & Med
Tangerine (3135) - Med
Lilac (3350) - Med
Olive Green (3187) - Med
Pinkberry (3374) - Large
Powder Blue (3262) - Large
Rust (3074) - Large
Pink Fondant (3390) - Large
3.5mm hook.
