Sun Drop is a hearty, completely reversible hat with gorgeous texture and a deeply ribbed hem. Worked in a lively blend of Finn wool and alpaca and a plush stitch pattern, Sun Drop is a warm and woolley knit that is stylish and practical from fall through spring.

With knitterly details like an optional tubular cast on and carefully crafted decreases that don’t disrupt the stitch pattern, Sun Drop is seamlessly reversible and lushly chic. But its brightest magic is in the deceptively simply sun-drop stitch, which makes for two drastically different looks: one side of the stitch pattern shows softly raised spheres, while the other shows a geometric and recessed honeycomb. This unusual reversibility, combined with deep ribbing that can be worn folded up for extra warmth or down for slouchy length, creates an endlessly versatile hat that seamlessly transitions among multiple looks and styles.

Yarn: 1 skein Why Knot Fibers’ Smitten DK, an all-Michigan blend of Finn wool and alpaca fibers. The modeled hat is shown in the Willow colorway.

To Fit: Sun Drop is designed to fit 16(19, 22) inches around, but the ribbing is very stretchy and can comfortably accommodate a variety of head sizes.
