This pattern is available for free.

This pattern uses a worsted weight cotton yarn to work up a lightweight, breathable, and breezy adorable sun hat, perfect for toddlers and young children on those warm sunny summer days. This hat features a shell stitch design in the centre which adds a summer quality that isn’t very feminine so this hat can be made for both boys and girls. Add a flower, a sun or a summer themed appliqué for that added touch.

It was brought to my attention that this hat would make an excellent summer hat for chemo patients. It will keep your head covered and protect it from the sun but still allow your head to breathe.

This pattern is written for toddlers 1-3 (18″-19″), children 4-10 (20″-21″), and adult (21”-23”)
