This garter stitch shawl with a lace edging is the perfect showcase for a beautiful set of coordinated yarns. You can also knit in a single color or raid your leftover bin. Construction begins at the center back and radiates outward and downward in 5 sections.

Yardage details
Approximately 1210 yards of fingering-weight yarn to knit as shown – 240 yards of C1 (ivory in sample, 295 yards of C2 (yellow in sample), 415 yards of C3 (light grey in sample), and 260 yards of C4 (dark grey in sample). The sample shown used 130 yards of C1 for the border, adding a 10% cushion means you should have 145 yards available.

Because of the number of stitches, circular needles work best. You may want to switch to longer cables as your shawl grows.

You will also need stitch markers, a tapestry needle, and blocking supplies.

The yardage and directions are given for the shawl as shown, but you can manage your colors and striping any way you like. You can also work at a different gauge or to a different size.

Lace border is both charted and written.

Sample was knit in Sunshine Yarns Ultraluxe Light in Sunspot, Pollen, Io, and Ghost Town (the Grellow set shown in the 5th photo but I switched the order of the first 2 colors :)
