Sun Valley, Idaho is one of my most favorite places to visit. Home of the world’s first chairlift, it is a skiing town through and through. Of all the simple beanie patterns I have knit, this one best combines great fit, simple design, and versatility among different brands of yarn. Plus, the pattern is available in 5 sizes, so you can make a beanie for everyone in the family.

Included in this pattern are instructions for using several colors to make a scrappy beanie as well.

METHOD: knit in the round bottom up
SKILLS REQUIRED: knit, purl, joining in the round
SIZES: Newborn (Baby, Toddler, Child, Adult)
YARDAGE: for an adult size, appx 65 yds
GAUGE : 5 stitches and 6 rows = 2” x 2” Measured in stockinette on Size 13 (9 mm) needles, unblocked
