One of my favorite parts of living at the farm is watching the sunbeams dance over the ripples of the pond. Their shimmering beauty, refracting and reflecting off the surface, creates a mesmerizing play of light and shadow.

That interplay of light and light shadow is the inspiration for the Sunbeam Colorblock Socks.

Materials:

20 grams of fingering weight yarn in Color 1
80 grams of fingering weight yarn in Color 2
Size US 1 (2.25 mm) main needles/ US 2 (2.75 mm) needles
for colorwork (or size needed to obtain gauge), 2 circulars in 16
inch length, or a 32-40 inch circular for magic loop
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Stitch markers (optional)

Sizes:
Small/Medium (7.5”/ 20 cm foot circumference)
Medium/Large (8.5”/ 22 cm foot circumference)

Gauge:
32 sts/48 rnds = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette
36 sts/40 rnds = 4 inches (10 cm) in colorwork

Notes:
Colorwork knitting can be less stretchy than regular knitting because of the floats that run behind the work. I recommend knitting the colorwork portion of the Sunbeam Socks at a slightly looser gauge to ensure that your socks will easily fit over your heel.
