Created when sunlight is refracted by a fine mist or spray, the sunbow is sometimes rather modest compared to its grandiose cousin, the rainbow. Demure hints of color tiptoe their way across this shawl, only revealing their true glory when they sweep together across the border edge.

The Sunbow shawl is an asymmetrical crescent shawl worked from the top down. Wedges of Stockinette Stitch shaped with short rows fill the spaces between slip stitch arcs of color. The colors are then worked in reverse order to create the Garter Stitch border.
