The Sunburst Crop Top is a pullover, sleeveless crop top that can be worn over a bra. It features an extended single-crochet (esc) in the border. The Extended Single Crochet stitch has a lacy diagonal element and is similar in height to a Half Double Crochet stitch. The border is added to the bra cups around the center single crochet section. The triangles of the cups are then turned 90’ to meet in the center front. The border is then added along the base of the triangular shapes which now form the side seams and extend up to create the shoulder straps. I have included many photos in the detailed instructions. The stitches are simple and instructions for the special stitches are provided. The project goes quickly and the resulting top is super cute.
I chose to make this top in KnitPicks Shine Sport because I like the cotton/Modal blend for added softness. It would also work beautifully in a washable Merino or any yarn in a comparable weight that achieves the desired results.
