Adult average, approximately 21.25” around, above brim.
Yarn
Cascade 220 Sport, 100% Peruvian Highland Wool;
50g (1.75 oz)/ 150m (164 yards)
MC: Midnight blue 9543 (1 ball)
CC3: Orange 7824 (1 ball)
CC4: Goldenrod 7827 (1 ball) (very little needed)

Brown Sheep NatureSpun Sport, 100% Wool;
50g (1.75 oz)/168m (184 yards)
CC1: Spiced Plum 142 (1 ball) (very little needed)
CC2: Red Fox N46 (1 ball) (very little needed)
Or other sport weight wools that make a nice fabric
at this gauge.
Note about quantities: if making both hat and cowl, you will only need a second ball of the MC. For all other colors, 1 ball each will suffice for both pieces, though CC3 will be close.
