This pattern has been rewritten and retested several times, and the updated version is now available.

The pattern starts with a mandala designed to look like a sunburst. It is made mainly using overlay crochet.

The mandala is encircled with a border and then transformed into a square with a similar border.

The back is made as a square, with very simplified rays created using overlay crochet.

This is one of my original designs. I use standard crochet terminology and provide both US and UK terms.

All of my patterns are thoroughly checked and tested by one to three people.
