Introduction

These simple-but-interesting socks are the perfect way to use up those special skeins you’ve been saving but have no idea what to do with! The contrast cuffs of the deluge socks are reminiscent of tendrils of sunlight in late autumn, whilst the reverse stockinette body provides the ideal backdrop to showcase variegated or one-of-a-kind yarns.

Materials

1 x 100g ball of 4ply sock yarn in colour A (body)
1 x 20g ball of 4ply sock yarn in colour B (cuff and toe)
Set of 2.5mm DPNs (or size required to reach gauge)

Gauge

20 stitches and 27 rows = 5cm x 5cm in stockinette

Sizing

Sizes S / M / L correspond to an ankle circumference of 16 / 18 / 20 cm.
The foot length and ankle height of the socks can be adjusted for any size by knitting longer or shorter sections of reverse stockinette before the heel section and toe decreases, respectively.
