Sundial is a top-down, circular-yoked sweater, which features patterns inspired by the shapes and textures of a sundial.

This design is available as a single-colour, textured sweater and a two-colour, stranded sweater.

Upon purchase, you will receive two pdfs to download: one for the single-colour version of the design and one for the two-colour version of the design.

CONSTRUCTION
This garment is worked top-down, in the round. Whilst working the neckband, short row shaping is incorporated to optimise fit. The majority of the yoke features textured / colourwork patterns. Once the yoke is completed, stitches are separated into body and sleeves, which are each worked separately and in the round. The textured / colourwork patterns extend into the upper body and sleeves. Once complete, the remainder of the body is worked in stockinette and finished with a twisted rib waistband. The sleeves are gently decreased, then a section of textured / colourwork pattern is worked above the twisted rib cuff.

SIZING GUIDE
This garment is graded into sizes 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) (6, 7, 8, 9, 10). Recommended positive ease is 4+” / 10+ cm at the chest circumference.

SAMPLE
The wearer is 5’10” / 178 cm with a 37” / 92.5 cm chest circumference. The sample has been worked in size 4, giving the wearer 11” / 27.5 cm of positive ease at the chest. To accommodate the height of the wearer, an extra 1” / 2.5 cm of depth has been added to the yoke, and an extra 2” / 5 cm of length has been added to the body and sleeve length.

GAUGE
There are two gauges for this design:

COLOURWORK / TEXTURE PATTERN GAUGE
Using 5 mm / US size 8 needles, or needle size required to meet gauge, 16 stitches over 24 rounds in the colourwork and texture stitch pattern, wet blocked, creates a 4x4” / 10x10 cm square.

STOCKINETTE GAUGE
Using 5 mm / US size 8 needles, or needle size required to meet gauge, 16 stitches over 20 rounds in stockinette, wet blocked, creates a 4x4” / 10x10 cm square.

YARN
For the single-colour version:
The sample has been worked using Stylcraft’s Highland Heathers Aran weight yarn (100% Acrylic; 190 m / 208 yds per 100 g) in colourway Grist (Shade 3750).

For the two-colour version:
The sample has been worked using Grundl’s Limited Edition Cloud Aran weight yarn (44% Acrylic / 33% Polyamide / 11% Viscose / 7% Wool / 5% Alpaca; 290 m / 317 yds per 100 g) in Colour 01 as the Main Colour and Colour 03 as the Contrast Colour.
