Sunflower Applique 2.0
Last year, I designed the Sunflower Triangle Shawl for Happily Hooked Magazine. In this shawl, I used a basic floral pattern that I had actually been sitting on for a couple years, not really knowing what to do with it. Finally, I came up with the shawl, and a few other ways the basic flower pattern could be used, but I wanted a more real looking sunflower with the texture in the center, so I went back to the drawing board, and came up with this Sunflower Applique 2.0 - 2.0 because it is an improved design.
Materials:
-Small Amount of Lightweight Yarn or Worsted Weight Yarn - I used two strands of Baby Bee’s Sweet Delight in the Banana and Chocolate colorways
-H8/5mm Crochet Hook
-Tapestry Needle for Weaving in Ends
Material Notes:
Work this flower in any weight yarn with respective crochet hook to achieve various sizes.
I held two strands of a lightweight #3 yarn together to work up my sunflowers, but you could use one strand of worsted weight yarn as an alternative.
Time Spent:
One flower worked up in just under 15 minutes.
Measurements:
4” Wide from Tip of One Petal to Another
