I originally designed this for Happily Hooked Magazine, Issue 38, which featured floral designs.

I worked up this sunflower motif quite some time ago as part of a stacked flower for a patriotic hat I was working on, but never published. I looked back at it, and thought, this flower could be so much more! I pulled out some yarn from my stash, got to whipping up, and joining sunflowers, and the Sunflower Shawl was born! Originally, I submitted this shawl to be part of an issue to feature triangle shawls, but was asked if it could be used in the floral design issue instead. Of course I said yes!
