Hey all! First Ravelry pattern, because I’ve gotten so much love wearing this hat.

I’m a bit of an improviser when knitting, so I’m afraid I don’t have perfect detail in this hat. If something seems like it’s weird, go with your gut, not the chart.

This hat is the coolest “stashbuster” I’ve ever made. It’s literally just my cheapest worsted weight acrylic yarns. If you have something nicer and fancier, it might look even better. The “sunset” look is achieved by Russian joining your chosen colors (dark red, scarlet red, orange, lighter orange, dandelion yellow, light yellow, light grey, pale blue, light blue, medium blue, dark blue, navy). This isn’t indicated in the chart. Make sure to make your “joins” in different places in the pattern, so that it’s not all lumpy in one place.

Speaking of stashbusting - I have no idea how many yards it needed. I truly could not tell you. It’s a hat. You probably have enough.

Size-wise, it’s a bit big on my head, which is 22”.

Let me know if there’s any feedback and I can try to correct it!

Edit: biggest feedback I’ve gotten is that the sizing is off. I don’t know what’s wrong, so use a gauge! And if you start the brim and it looks too small, trust your gut, it might be.
