Sunset Trees Sweater inspiration
Driving for hours in your car, landscape scenes passing by like pieces of a giant jigsaw puzzle, the sun is setting behind rows of shadowy trees, radio on, cozy and warm: hence the motifs and subtle coloring in my Sunset Trees Sweater. A basic top down constructed sweater, obeying the rhythm of the multiple of colorstranded trees and with a handful of repetitive stripes, has been the product of my knitting needles just in time for winter! A model of all times and for all treehuggers, I used an authentic woollen yarn and ditto shades. I patterned it for nine sizes and you can also easily adjust the sweater to your own fit along the way down.

Details of the sweater
For the edges around neck, wrists and hem I interrupted the k1/p1 ribbing to create tree growth rings. The short rows for the upper back are worked in between the rings to the effect that they ‘open up’ there.

Intermediate: you need to work in the round, strand the colorwork and use short rows for upper back part. I explain all used techniques in a section ‘techniques’ included in the pattern.

Any sport yarn can be used for this sweater, the more woolly its appearance the better. I used two Swedish brands because I like the natural coloring.
