Another Beehive classic! This baby set has been a firm favourite at the Beehive for years and with good reason. The pattern includes instructions for a simple raglan cardigan with a matching hat. Written for two sizes, this pattern is perfect for self-patterning sock yarns.

CARDIGAN SIZES

Size 1 (6-12 months): 53 cm (21”) chest
Size 2 (12-24 months): 58.5 cm (23”) chest

YARN

The required amount of fingering weight yarn for the desired size.

Size 1 (Cardigan): 390 m (427 yds)
Size 2 (Cardigan): 540 m (591 yds)
Hat (One Size): 93 m (102 yds)

GAUGE

30 sts x 36 rows = 10 cm (4”), in stockinette stitch, after blocking. Gauge is not critical but will impact finished size and meterage required.

NEEDLES

3 mm (US 2.5 60 cm (24”) circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
3 mm (US 2.5) DPNS or 80 cm (32”) circular needle for magic loop (sleeves and hat)
