With this pattern you can make a cute little textured string bag (when empty around 20cm tall, 20cm wide at the widest part and 10cm at the top when closed) that can be worn in different ways, because the straps are detachable. My favorite ways to wear it are as a backpack with two straps or shoulder bag with only one strap :)

It’s an intermediate level pattern that works up rather quickly. I added a lot of pictures to make it easier to understand, but you might want to do a little video search for certain stitches if you don’t know them yet (e.g. star stitch, crossed stitches, post stitches,…) They’re easy to work, but not always so easy to describe in words or pictures alone :)

You will need a light, non-stretchable worsted weight yarn (I used Eco Barbante by Hoooked), a 4mm hook and 4-6 snap hooks for bags to make the straps.

To make it in unicolor, you only need a full skein plus start another one. One skein is 200g/200m, so you will need about 300m in total. For a multicolor bag, you can use a 100m or 200m skein for the most prominent color and smaller ones for the colors that don’t show up as much. (There are 50m skeins as well :))

It is my personal choice and recommendation to use Hoooked yarn, this is not a cooperation.
