I celebrate a year of designing patterns in memory of my daughter by publishing the second Sunshine Charlotte Blanket. Worked in yellow and grey, this blanket represents pediatric and brain cancer, and it serves as a soft reminder of my beautiful daughter.

In order to create the Sunshine Charlotte Blanket, you work afghan squares with dots and suns in the round, sewing them together in the order you prefer. The cable panels between the squares are a part of my “Cables for Cancer” design, and they add a beautiful texture to this baby blanket. The ruffled border is also worked in the round, and it ties the whole blanket together.

This pattern uses front and back post dc and tr, and it also utilizes the 3rd loop technique with the hdc. While this pattern is ranked intermediate difficulty, it comes with several photo tutorials to help you along. Don’t be intimidated by the difficulty; this blanket is the perfect project for the next baby to arrive in your life!
