Sunspots are a bright orange variety of morning glory, another of my favorite flowers. Their small, brilliant blooms greet the sun each morning with a dazzling display.
Mitts are worked in the round in an all-over pattern, resulting in mitts that work equally well on either hand. Thumb gusset is worked in stockinette stitch.

This pattern coordinates with Moonvine, a cowl using the same stitches.

Yarn: fingering weight; 135 175, 275 yards.

Skills: knit, purl, k2tog, k3tog, ssk, s1-k2tog-psso, YO, double YO, garter stitch in the round.

Other supplies: 3 stitch markers, smooth waste yarn or other holder for gusset sts, yarn needle.

Stitch patterns: Charted and written.

Special note on sizing: Using a fabric measuring tape, measure the hand around the widest point. Subtract 1 inch (2.5 cm). Make the size that is closest to that measurement. This stitch isn’t as stretchy as stockinette. The medium sized mitt stretches to snugly fit a hand with a 7½-inch (19 cm) circumference.
