This written pattern will show you how to make this super chunky throw. Using a neat moss stitch border and simple stockinette stitch the super chunky wool gives a great texture and warmth to the piece. The chunky wool makes this piece knit very quickly allowing you to produce your own throw in just a weekend. The moss stitch border helps to keep the edges of the throw tidy and roll-free. This simple and elegant design makes a great gift and fits is well with any décor.

The throw pictured is 40” x 40” (100cm x 100cm), the pattern also gives instructions for a larger throw, 50” x 50” (125cm x 125cm). If you would like to increase the size of the throw you can a) add extra rows which will make the throw longer, b) add extra stitches to make the throw wider. I have indicated on the pattern where to add extra rows and stitches to alter the size.

What you will need:

  • Cygnet Seriously Chunky acrylic wool – 900g Small Throw, 1400g Large Throw*

  • 12mm circular knitting needles**

  • blunt needle for weaving in the ends

  • if you chose to increases the size of the blanket you will need to increase the amount of wool accordingly

The blanket is knit flat and not in the round, the circular needles are used to hold the large number of stitches

You can buy the wool that you need here in my shop, you can also buy a kit which incudes the pattern, the needles, and the wool. Just follow the links below or get in touch if you have any questions:
