This pattern is for five different styles of cute and easy baby booties in five different sizes.

Unlike many patterns, you do not need to ‘pick up and knit’ stitches to make any of these booties, which some beginners find a little tricky.

The foot part of the bootie is identical, whatever style you choose but there are a number of options for the cuff. Once you have knitted the first part, go to the cuff section to select and knit your choice of cuff, the part of bootie that goes round the ankle.

Choose from simple garter stitch, waffle stitch, lacy stitch, rib stitch with a strap or a ‘split’ rib cuff which looks a bit like a traditional slipper. In terms of simplicity, the garter stitch cuff is the simplest and the lacy stitch is probably the most challenging for a newbie knitter, though would be well within the grasp of adventurous beginners.
