The Sushi Date bag is the perfect accompaniment to the Sushi Date Sweater. You begin the bag by making i-cords for the drawstrings. Then beginning at the top hem, you work from the top down and in the round, working the chart and ending by seaming your bag at the bottom. The cutest accessory to take on your sushi dates!

Techniques
This pattern works the following techniques:
knit, purl, working in the round, 1x1 rib, provisional cast on , stranded colourwork, knitting I-cord, Kitchener Stitch, three needle bind off.
Gauge
21 sts and 28 rows = 4 inches 10 cm in stockinette stitch on 4 mm US 6 needles, blocked.
If you have more stitches on 4 inches / 10 cm than stated, use a larger needle size; if you have fewer stitches, use a smaller needle size.
Measurements
Length: 9.75 inches 24.5 cm
Width: 9 inches 23 cm
Suggested Needles
- 4 mm US 6 circular needles 16, 32/40 inches 40, 80/100 cm, or size to obtain gauge.
- 3.5 mm US 4 circular needles 16, 32/40 inch 40, 80/100 cm for the 1x1 ribbing.
- Optional 3.5mm US 4 double pointed needles for the I-cord

This pattern is perfect as a scrap yarn project or just to make to match your Sushi Date Sweater.
The sample is made in a merino wool yarn. You can use any yarn you prefer on this pattern and substitute the colours.
Main Colour (MC): Stephen and Penelope Tandem DK (100% South American Wool, 100g, 233 metres 254 yards), in the colour Powder. (Main body of bag)
If you are using this yarn, you will need 1 skein in the Main Colour (MC).
Contrasting Colour 1 (CC1): Laughing Hens Purely Merino DK (100% Superwash Fine Merino Wool, 50g, 115 m 125 yards) in the colour Petrol Blue. (Fish design)
If you are using this yarn, you will need 1 ball of the Contrasting Colour 1.
Contrasting Colour 2 (CC2): Laughing Hens Purely Merino DK (100% Superwash Fine Merino Wool, 50g, 115 m 125 yards) in the colour Tomato. (Top Hem)
