When I’m stressed, worried, or anxious, knitting helps to sustain and comfort me. But there’s a hitch- I can’t knit anything that requires too much thought or attention when I’m upset. I need knitting that I can do almost mindlessly, because then the knitting becomes a meditation and allows me to quiet my thoughts.

It’s knit from the bottom up with fingering weight yarn and is a great way to use up all those sock yarn odds and ends. I even find the process of choosing color combinations very peaceful, sitting there on the floor, surrounded by beautiful yarn.
