SVEABORG PULLOVER

The Sveaborg pullover has a double folded collar with a zipper detail on the front. It has a classic shape and fit with cable details on the front, the back and the sleeves. The Sveaborg pullover is designed to get you through even the chilliest and windiest days of the winter season. The pullover got its name from a little island of Sveaborg (aka Suomenlinna) that is situated in front of my hometown Helsinki. It is a popular day trip destination of people living in Helsinki on calm and sunny days, but the weather can get quite rough on a stormy day when the wind blows from the open sea.

The Sveaborg pullover is knitted from the top down. It is started with the lining for the front neck, which makes the finished pullover look neat even when worn with the zipper open. The back and front are knitted flat down to the armholes. Then the pieces are joined and the body is knitted in the round. Stitches for the sleeves are picked up around the armholes and the sleeves are worked in the round. Lastly the neck lining is stitched in place on the inside of the neck and a zipper is added to the front.
